The Tablo device has a Coax input . A TV antenna of some type must be attached for the TABLO to receive any kind of OTA signal . But that's just the tip of the iceberg. There is also an ethernet input terminal . You "can" use a ethernet cable from the TABLO to your Router for a "Wired" connection . Although it is marketed as a WiFi connection also .. I have never got the thing to work at all without using an ethernet "wired" connection .. Once that is established the TABLO is supposed to put a new SSID of TABLOXXXX on your network .. That did not happen on my network . I had to rename my "guest SSID " to "TABLOXXXX" to get past this hurdle .. Finally if you are lucky the TABLO app on your Smart TV , ROKU , Firestick etc is supposed to find the "TABLO XXXX" as a WiFI connection and away you go.. That happens about 40% of the time .. 60% of the time the APP abends saying it can't find "The TABLO" .. A nice idea but the "TABLO" is not yet ready for prime time .. I was very disappointed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would get some streaming channels, but no OTA stations. The point of this device is to receive broadcast tv networks using an antenna instead of cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.yes you need both wifi and antenna to work. A good antenna is the key
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you don't hook it to an antenna you aren't going to get any local channels. Its main purpose is to get your local channels from an antenna and let you watch/record. There are streaming channels available on the device, but its more an extra than a reason to buy it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It needs both WiFi and an over-the-air (OTA) antenna. During setup, Tablo connects to your tablet or phone for initial setup. Then using your Tablo TV app on your smart tv or firestick, etc. Your Tablo device connects to your WiFi network to stream Tablo content to the TV interface noted above. You can use any brand OTA antenna to receive the signal broadcast via coax cable. Metro areas close to broadcast antennas can get by with aa inexpensive antenna, rural areas greater than 20 miles or terrain weakening the signal will need an expensive one to receive weak signals. Hopr this helps! It works amazingly well for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Must be connected to antenna.
