Yes, a second gen Apple Pencil will fit on the edge, and a loop of fabric will go around. The only thing really holding it to the iPad is the magnetic attachment to the iPad itself, which is now slightly weakened by the rubber case around the edge of the iPad. The pencil still charges and doesn’t fall off if you’re careful.
