Can this scale be used on carpet? null

I think it would depend on the depth of the carpet. The unit has a "button" on the back which must be able to be depressed in order to give you a readout. If it something like a berber carpet, I think it might work, but anything more might be too plush.

Not recommended not all that great of a scale. Period
