I’ve had a 55” Samsung sitting on my fireplace mantle which is approximately 20” above the top of the fireplace and I’ve never had any issues with it wobbling etc. The issues today with some TV manufacturers are there stands. Some have those sticks on each end of the TV where others have the center mounted flat stand that are 10” deep and range from 16” to 24” wide. I prefer the flat stand because I didn’t want to mount it onto my brick wall and spend an additional 50-100 dollars for a wall mount. You might pay more for a TV that has a flat stand (LG/Samsung) but it’s worth it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For this 50 inch TCL Roku TV, the feet spacing to fit on a stand is 39.6 inches wide and 8.0 inches deep. However, we do not recommend placing over a fireplace. This precaution is given due to the fact that if a fireplace is used it will put off heat, and possibly smoke. This may cause damage to the TV if it is mounted directly above a fireplace. Additionally, in our quick start manual under 'Important Safety Instructions' we caution against installing our products near any heat sources like radiators, stoves, heat registers, etc. In order to maintain safety we caution against mounting at this location. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer support
