Each series builds on each other. All of these series are 4K UHD, have HDR support, and have a Roku operating system. The new 5-Series and 6-Series additionally have Dolby Vision Support, wide color gamut, auto-game mode, an edge-to-edge glass display, QLED technology, eARC, CCZ, etc. The new 6-Series also features mini-LED technology, Variable Refresh Rate, and THX Certified Game Mode. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These are different series of TV's. Meaning each series focuses on a different audience and set of feature. They'll always be mostly similar, but for example, Series 4 offers tvs with either the Android TV or Roku TV OS's built in, where the series 5 has only the Roku OS built in. A quick look at the TCL website will help you understand the differences in these sets. https://www.tcl.com/us/en/products/home-theater
