No banding on mine. I hesitated to buy it because of all the fuss about it that I saw online. This is actually a major reason I bought it at Best Buy - they stock the 615 locally so I could pick it up and exchange it if necessary, without having to ship it off... plus I got a great deal on the Best Buy exclusive version, the 615. The 615 just lacks the voice remote of the 617 you see everywhere else.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had two of these tv's. The first had very minor banding and was not noticeable in normal content. Sadly the tv's hdmi kept going out so I had to switch it out. The second tv has terrible banding to the point of being noticeable in everything. Best Buy is refusing to swap this tv out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I'm experiencing both vertical and horizontal banding on my unit, purchased Dec. 6th 2018. It's not particularly noticeable during standard movie/tv playback but is very obvious on menu backgrounds of solid colors. I thought I was going to be able to tolerate the banding until I purchased and hooked up a PS4 Pro to the TV this past weekend. When playing a game and rotating the camera, the banding become unbearable. In Red Dead Redemption 2, for example, you can read in-game newspapers and notes that are written on an off-white medium. When moving the camera around while viewing these colors the horizontal and vertical banding is so bad it completely ruins any immersion. If I hadn't hooked a console up to the TV I may have never really noticed just how bad the issue was. I'll be exchanging my current unit for a new one this weekend and will update if the issue persist.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No vertical banding on my set. I have had the TV for 4 weeks now and I absolutely love it. Replacing a 2 year old Samsung that developed a black spot in 3 places. Picture quality is far superior to the Samsung in many ways. The set I have is representative of all of the positive reviews that the 6 series has received!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes totally. You might not see it when you're looking straight at it in front of TV. but look at the screen from an angle and you definitely see it. Vertical banding and circular banding. It's bad. Use a solid color background I purchased 2 TVs. Both did it. Going to exchange it but I think it's on all the TVs. I guess you get what you pay for
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Banding started 1 year and 2 weeks after purchase. ie out of warranty. Now I can't watch it. Once you see the bands you always see the bands. Total bummer!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes its really bad. You might get lucky though. If i could do it over again i would still get it and just run a bunch of diffrent content thru it and if its awful take it back and exchange it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Old question but problem is still there on newly made (2020) 2018 models. I recently got the 65" model. It's a 2018 but made in March 2020. After 3 days vertical banding showed up in 6 spots on the screen. After playing with the unit I was able to eliminated it by doing a cold reboot of the TV and turning "Fast TV Start" option OFF. This implies it's a problem of some sort of LED "fatigue" vice outright bad LEDs. So maybe the less the TV is on (or in active standby mode a.k.a. "fast TV start")? Time will tell.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. I've had mine a few weeks. It's actually better than my LG B7 OLED in that regard. I've been very happy with this tv, other than the flimsy, plasticy - and very slippery in hand - remote. You really get 90% of the performance of an OLED for a fraction of the price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes my first set thus far is unwatchable.
