“Is this tv edge-lit or full backlit? The info on this page says edge, but everything else I've seen says full. And is there a 2019 _and_ 2020 model? Or just 2020?”

This TV is backlit using a mini-LED backlighting array that allows it to look almost like an OLED without the massive chance of burn-in that OLEDs tend to have. The backlighting isn't controlled by each individual LED, but the "zones" it uses are small enough that I RARELY see light bleed in a dark screen with a bright object also on screen. The contrast on this thing is crazy. The colors are amazing, but the black and white levels are just... crazy. I woukd swear the TV is just off if a scene cut completely to black. There is none of the "gray" glow that comes from an edge lit or constant backlight that you see on standard LCD/LED tvs. I hope I managed to answer your question somewhere in the word avalanche I caused. I just really like this TV.
