From my experiences preordering from Best Buy, they deliver on the date it's released. One time it was delayed once by a day due to bad weather, but they've been very consistent from my experiences.

I chose Best Buy because I received delivery of Hogwarts Legacy on release day but looks like the pre-order advantage for this game is like a bait and switch.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I preordered months ago and the tracking info (despite saying 5/13 initially) has now changed to 5/16. I contacted customer support, which was a huge waste of time: all they could tell me was "We are really sorry for the experience you had; I know my apologies mean nothing at this point. I'm glad you contacted us about it, it's important that we get it fixed." and "I'd feel the same way if this happened to me. I understand why you feel that way." and "I've also added the prompt request and our team is working diligently on this and we'll do everything possible to have this delivered faster." all of which mean absolutely nothing. And then after wasting my time for an hour, pretending they were actually trying to solve the problem, all I was left with was "I kindly request you to please wait 24 to 48 hrs." Of course, Best Buy charged my card on 5/10. And the worst part? I went on the BestBuy website where it said if I ordered in the next 14 hours I could have it by Monday. So if I pre-order, I get the game 4 days late, but if I order 2 days after the release date I can get it in 2 days. I wish someone would explain to me what the point of pre-ordering is. (And by the way, my pre-order bonus shipped separately and they have no idea what's going on with that either.)
