I just leave it in the meat the whole time, set the desired temp, and when it reaches that temp, it will beep and let you know your meat has reached the desired temp
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The temperature response only takes seconds; however, you need to be cognizant of where and how you insert a probe. You can insert in 5 places and get 5 different readings varying by, perhaps, 15 degrees! The idea and intent of this device is to place the probe precisely where you know you want the temperature to be at a given temp. And, if you want the meat to be at 135 degrees, you might set the alarm for 130...or 128 (to give 'lead' time before removing the meat from the grill.) Plus, you can be sipping on a beer or glass of wine, visiting with friends...and not having to be poking here and there...knowing that the alarm will alert you!
