• A:Answer The Echomaster installation kit allows you to connect the camera to your OBD2 port for power instead of cutting into wiring to find power, and also allows the camera to switch between park and drive modes, all without having to modify your existing wiring. It plugs into your existing OBD2 port, and also provides another port so you can use vehicle diagnostics without unplugging the camera. You can install the camera without the kit, but you'll have to connect camera power directly to the fuse box, or cut into wiring, in order to power the camera. This kit is designed for a non- electric vehicle, so it may or may not work with an electric or hybrid vehicle. In my case, it did work on my 2018 Ford Fusion hybrid, but generally if you have an electric vehicle your results may vary with this kit.

Q: Questionit says it has looping recording. If you need 20 minutes of footage, would all 20minutes be there? How long does it go before it starts recording over the previous footage?

• A:Answer That depends on the size of the micro-sd card you are using and the resolution you are recording in. I’ve attached a basic breakdown of what you could expect based on the included 32 gig card and 16 and 64 gig options. However, how you set up the camera will ultimately decide how much time you get. The stock 32 gig should give you well over the 20 minutes you need.

Q: QuestionI started to mount the rear camera as illustrated on page 18 on the manual and the video is upside down. If camera is turned over Thinkware label is on bottom and model number is upside down now. Was internal camera installed incorrectly at factory?

Q: QuestionI have a 2017 RAM Truck, which Best Buy says Thinkware -X1000 will not fit my vehicle. Is there a particular reason why it's not compatible? A dash-cam is a dash-cam. You would think it could go into any vehicle.
