The Tile's themselves only have a range of 100 - 150 ft, with some models I think upwards up 300 ft -- However, the App used on your phone, and others phone, will anonymously update a lost Tile's location, so for example, say you have a Tile in your luggage, and it is left behind. If someone else has the Tile App nearby on their phone, it will send a beacon to their phone, which will update it's location.... this is how the tile community works. The person nearby your Tile doesn't even know they've updated the location, which is a nice feature.... no info is shared.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The range is 100 - 250 ft (depends on wit walls/buildings are between your phone and the tile) as the tile must be within Bluetooth range. It uses Bluetooth to keep track of where the tile is. If you leave location services on all the time for the Tile app, then it will keep track of the last “known” location. This functionality will give you the approximate location of the last time your phone communicated with the Tile tracker. Once you get back to the location then it will usually reconnect via Bluetooth, which will allow you to “alert” the tracker so you can find the exact location.
