I have a TiVo Bolt and it may be like some others. I can record programs without a subscription. But if I want the program guide then I have to pay for it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but it's not very expensive. I activated my TiVo using the monthly plan of around $6-7. They offered a yearly plan which is a little cheaper. I really like my TiVo.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, there is a monthly fee for the TIVO service. I believe it is $ 6.99 per month. There is a savings to pay on an annual basis, I believe it is $ 69.99 per year. And you can get a lifetime subscription for a fee , I think it is about $ 250.00. Without the subscription, the TIVO will not work. The TIVO is a great product and works perfectly to watch and record OTA broadcasts. I think the subscription fee is well worth the price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Other than the TIVO subscription no, I did the Lifetime with mine so I’m good to go with no other monthly charges!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, there are several options such as monthly billing, annual billing, or lifetime (of the DVR).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You CANNOT record without a subscription!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We were considering cutting the cord with Spectrum...bought a TIVO OTA...and yes we can record crap OTA. However with a very good omni-directional antenna, our reception is not what we expected. Old TV hooked to same antenna... piece of cake - clear reception on channels that TIVO does not even pick up.. I play poker with a large group of IT Nerds and several have the same problem. On a forum and the nerds, I found out the 4 receivers in the TIVO OTA are crap!! I could buy a directional antenna but would have to turn it for each station. I would not be able to record stations in two different directions with that at the same time. OR would have to leave the antenna pointed toward the station I want to record while I am away. I also find the remote a little complex and not inherently obvious as to functions. We wanted HULU and TIVO's advertising had HULU mentioned. Guess what! TIVO can only receive (streaming) HULU's original tier but not the next two tiers where all the good stuff is. We pay 6 or 7 bucks a month to get the menu with TIVO but can only receive (antenna and streaming) a portion of what the menu portrays. That is my experience! GIVE TIVO a 4 (out of 5) for recording and 1 out of 5 for what I get. I wasted my money. I still have $pretrum so I can watch my choice....
