I have mine hooked to suddenlink. I haven't had any problems. Picture quality is great also.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This replaces your Comcast cable box. There's a place to insert a cable card that Comcast provides. You can then record 4 channels at once. We've been LONG time customers of Tivo and hands down they have the best user interface of any DVR. However, they have quality control issues right now (with this current hardware). I purchased this latest box in November 2018 and had to return it in Jan 2019 due to a failed hard drive. Now the replacement is showing similar symptoms. If you do go with Tivo right now, I'd recommend purchasing the extended warranty. It's never been an issue in the last 15 years with Tivo, so hopefully they'll get it together.

Check your cable company’s website, as they should have details. The FCC also made a rule years ago that cable companies are required to allow customers to install their own cable cards. Before that rule was created, the cable company could require that you set an appointment to have someone come to your house to install. It is very easy to install a cable card, and you have to read a few lines of information over the phone.
