Officially TiVO does not support wireless, only Ethernet connected LAN or Coax Cable connected. I has to have a headend Tivo DVR to work for cable, the Smart TV funtions of the box are independent of the main DVR though I believe. All that said, I have connected one of the Minis to a wireless to LAN adapter and have run it for several months with no issues and I have talked to other TiVO users who have done the same with good results.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the Tivo Mini must be connected to a Tivo recording device through household ethernet or using coax cable using a technology call Moca. It is designed to be able to connect to a TV in another room in the home via HDMI (only) to watch the same programming as available on the main Tivo recording device. It can view selected streaming services independently from the main Tivo, but still must be linked to that main Tivo.
