• A:Answer Unfortunately not. It will only record what comes thru the antenna. You would need the Bolt to record Directtv Now and Tivo will charge 15.99 a month on top of the cost of the Bolt.

Q: QuestionThe HD antenna is connected to the back of the tivo roamio OTA but I cannot get live TV. It's telling me to check source. HD antenna is ok and so is the other end which goes into the back of the tivo.

• A:Answer Hook up the antenna to the TV. On your TV set, go into "Setup" and look for "channel search" (or something similar to that). Click on that and your TV will search for local channels and get them set up on your TV. I had the same problem as you, so I am hoping I can save you a headache. I can't believe how many local channels that search function found, but it was a bunch.

• A:Answer You will need an antenna to get live tv. I used antennaweb.org to find out what was available to help decide how strong an antenna to buy. I believe Best Buy would install (but I haven't asked, so don't take that as a given), but set up is really easy to do yourself.

• A:Answer you CAN watch a streaming program while recording something over the air. You can also watch an over the air channel while recording a different over the air channel. In fact, it's a 4-tuner device, so you can record multiple programs simultaneously. BUT, this product is the OTA (Over The Air) model, meant primarily for viewing locally broadcast signals brought in by an external HD antenna. The unit has an internet connection, but only to allow watching internet streaming channels like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, etc. It can't decode "cable TV", like the Syfy Channel, History Channel, Turner Classic Movies, things like that. You need a different Tivo for those.

• A:Answer I would suggest you call TIVO customer support. They are extremely helpful. The unit requires a connection to a router to connect to internet. For this reason, I'm not sure dial-up will work. Without an internet connection, you cannot get programing for recording ability. Best wishes.

• A:Answer The $150 units are the Tivo Mini that allows you to access your main Tivo DVR. If you need 4 rooms, you have 1 main Tivo DVR and 3 Tivo Minis. As for the ability to record all of the channels you used to have on your Cable box, if that is you need, then the Tivo Roamio OTA 1TB is not the unit for you. There are other models, like the Bolt line that can use Cable Cards to access your cable content.
