A:AnswerPower cord is about 2ft.. It does come with a pretty detailed instruction manuel. No smoke with convection oven. We do have on counter in our basement bar. We've used convention for baked potatoes, and pizza. Works very well
A:AnswerYou can NOT turn off the turntable drive from the control panel but if you remove the glass turntable from the oven chamber and install one or both of the metal racks that are included with the unit, you can eliminate this function. This is best in Convection mode. It is more difficult to eliminate the turntable in microwave mode since you can not place metal in the oven when in micro mode. Instead, an inverted plastic pan over the turntable drive can be used to support the MICROWAVE-SAFE food container to be microwaved. WORKS FINE WITHOUT THE TURNTABLE IN CONVECTION MODE. WE EVEN COOKED A TURKEY FOR THANKSGIVING THIS WAY.
A:AnswerThe top surface has the convection cooking element hanging down. The turntable is removable. It comes packed separately for purchase shipping and you place it into the microwave before operating.
A:Answer9x13 is pushing the limit AND ONLY ON CONVECTION FUNCTION. 9X13 fits nicely into the chamber but you have to remove the glass turntable and put the pan on the short or tall rack that can be placed into the oven. The unit comes with a tall and short rack for convection baking of multiple items on two levels at once. The reason the turntable must be removed is that the diagonal of a 9x13 pan is greater than the 14x14 size of the oven interior, [especially if the pan has handle protrusions on the 9" ends] and will not allow the pan to turn. You might be able to use your pan in Micro mode [without the metal rack of course] if the pan is glass such as pyrex, Even then the turntable will probably need to be removed. The glass turntable might be able to twist under the pan [depending on the weight of the pan and its contents. This, of course, will limit how uniform the cooking will be since the turntable's purpose is to distribute the radiation throughout the food when in microwave mode.
A:AnswerCardboard does NOT belong in a microwave....especially a Convection Combo unit such as this. Manual says to remove all paper and cardboard before use EN-5
A:AnswerThe previous responder that stated the oven uses a magnetron has no idea what an inverter is. No, this oven unfortunately does not use an inverter. It controls the magnetron’s relative power by cycling the full output of the magnetron on and off every few seconds unlike an inverter which controls the ‘duty cycle’ of the power many times per second.
A:AnswerI use a paper towel to cover the food. The sensor MUST be able to sense the moisture from the food to determine when it is done. Whatever you use it must let moisture/steam get to the sensor.
A:AnswerHi There,
The light inside the Toshiba - 1.5 Cu. Ft. Convection Countertop Microwave with Sensor Cooking automatically turns on when you set the timer and it greatly helps so you can regularly check on your food as it is cooking. However, for the turntable, there's no way for us to stop it from rotating since there's a rotating motor that drives the stirring blades under the flatbed, which distributes the waves evenly to heat the food.
