Yes, you can connect the Chromebook to an external monitor via the HDMI port. You can either extend the desktop or you can mirror the display. You can also attach a Bluetooth mouse and/or Bluetooth keyboard to this Chromebook.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You should be able to attach a larger monitor via the HDMI port and use a wireless keyboard and mouse via the USB. Another possible solution would be to get a Chromebox, which is essentially a Chromebook minus the screen, keyboard, and trackpad. They can be found online for under $200 pretty easily.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does do mirror imaging via HD cable. I'm sure an external keyboard could be used for this, either USB or bluetooth, but I have no idea if they can be used at the same time as mirroring to an external monitor. Can't imagine it would be a problem, though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So I haven't tried a wireless keyboard and mouse yet-- but I suspect it should. I have tried connecting it to my 60" TV. That worked fine. Buy a cheap HDMI cable, select the HDMI port on the monitor, and use the settings to select display and mirror. There's no VGA out port-- so either stick to an HDMI monitor or get an HDMI to VGA (or DVI) converter of some sort.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can connect an external screen through the HDMI port. I just tried it with a 36" LCD TV and it worked great. The default configuration is to have the monitor be an extension of your laptop monitor, act as a second screen. You can change it so that it mirrors the laptop screen, or is the primary monitor. I am not sure if this setting is held when you shut down or not, but if you press ctrl and the square icon with two corners filled it will allow you to change to Mirror. Also, I connected a wireless mouse to the USB. It is a Logitech that uses a universal key that allows you to connect multiple devices through the one key. It works, so I assume that the keyboard would also work, but I don't own one to verify this assumption with. Hope everything works out for your dad with the laptop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use a wireless keyboard and mouse. I plugged in the dongle and that was it, they work flawlessly. For a monitor I use my 32" TV via HDMI cable. Again with no issues. As a matter of fact you can either mirror or have a two monitor setup.
