Yes, it is a known issue. I purchased an open-box version and there was a loud hum from the TVs power supply transformer when the backlight was set to anything less than 100%. Users report the hum goes away when the backlight it kept at 100%. I exchanged it for an unopened box and so far there is no hum at all. Cross my fingers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, my set had a backlight hum. Best Buy has a generous exchange policy up to 15 January. They gave me a 1 for 1 exchange and the new TV has zero hum at 80% backlight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not audio hum, it's the transformer for the backlight. Mine hums at any backlight setting below 100. I suspect that's the case for all of them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had mine for a month and haven't had this issue. It's a great basic tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I heard this from a few buyers as well but my unit has no hum whatsoever.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I literally just plugged it in last night and it hums instantly. It is a subtle hum similar to old fluorescent lighting. It must be slightly common since I am not usually the luck winner of such atrocities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine has no hum from internal speakers or the sound bar I added.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the buzzing sound you are talking about with the first tv I received. When I returned it, Best Buy was pretty shocked that there a default (I'm assuming because it's not that common). However, I read plenty of reviews on here saying otherwise. I can tell you that the second tv they gave me has no issues. There is a slight humming sounds but it's not noticeable while watching or playing anything on the tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My first TV had a hum like the reviewers indicated. I returned it and the 2nd TV does not hum.
