QuestionI accessed files on this hard drive a day ago but today it is not working. When I go to "my computer," it is not listed as an option.When I plug the device into my laptop, the light comes on on the device but I can not access it on my laptop. We troubleshot and tried on a few different laptops but have the same issues on all.

QuestionAddOnce I back up my entire computer, I will continue to add stuff. ^ months later can I add just the past 6 months to the current backup hard drive? Or will it want to back up Everything again?

- Answer I have not tried that yet but If you run a search by date (last 6 months), it'll select all files that you need. But folder structure would be different.

Questionwhy is there a battery in the hard drive?

- Answer The response was that it does not have a battery. The outside of UPS box has prominent lithium-ion battery cautions. The warranty states that the battery is covered for 3 months vs. 12 months for the drive. Someone thinks there is a battery inside and I did not attempt to open the case to check. If there truly is no battery, then too bad. They are on their way back to Best Buy. I did replace them with a one WD drive.
