QuestionCan I record movies from cable box to DVD disk on recorder?

- Answer I have been able to record any movie on cable, including PPV, by setting the TV Input to normal HDMI and clicking "Rec" on the remote. I cannot record it if I try to use the timer function, so I have to be there when the movie starts and stops if I just want the movie without other stuff on the recording. Leaving the Input set for DVD recording on the timer (like for recording overnight) doesn't work on PPV programs.

- Answer Make a single DVD from the VHS tape, and then with the aid of a computer, copy more copies. PC and Mac both have software that come with the purchase.

QuestionCan you record only bits and pieces of different vhs tapes to a dvd?I have several videos of my daughter growing up and at various events/competitions. I want to transfer from vhs to dvd only the parts including her. I would like to prepare one video on dvd for her wedding reception.

- Answer Yes. However. I think this can only be done in DVD+R recording mode since you will be swapping out tapes to get to the desire sections. I would suggest having the VHS tapes set to the desired locations before starting to avoid searching in the middle of a recording session. Another suggestion would be to construct a single VHS tape with the various events and then covert that tape over to DVD. Of course that would require a second VHS recorder. Good luck.

- Answer That is a good question. If u r using your camcorder as a DVR and the manufacture says it can be done, then yes. Using the proper cables and if there is an "In" jack on your camcorder then it can be done. Best bet is to check your camcorder's manufacture site for specifications.

- Answer Yes, you can. I usually only dub movies from VHS (when they're not copy-protected), but I had one cable TV news special with commercials that I edited out that way.
