In most scenarios, the battery and power to the modem should be replaced once the modem has been connected to the router via Ethernet cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you to Chris, who shared that it was not necessary to remove the back-up battery from the modem during set up of this router. I didn't remove the battery either (since I typically prefer shortcuts and didn't want to mess with the battery at all) and can report all is also well, and the wifi is working perfectly.
