  • Question1.What is the difference between a TP Link Archer AX90-AX6600 and a TP Link Archer AX6000? 2. Are these made in China, and if so, are there any security concerns?

    Asked by tplink.

    • Answer Hi, we'll be happy to help answer these questions for you. 1. The key differences are that the AX90 is a Tri-Band router, whereas the AX6000 is a dual-band router. This means the AX90 has a slightly slower 2.4GHz band (up to 574Mbps) when compared to the AX6000 (up to 1148Mbps). However, the AX90 offers more overall 5GHz bandwidth (one 5GHz band at up to 4804Mbps and another at up to 1201Mbps). Also, the Archer AX6000 has eight Gigabit LAN ports, whereas the AX90 has four. 2. Yes, both models are manufactured in china. TP-Link values the security of our networking products with the utmost importance. Our routers utilize the latest industry standards in encryption (including WPA3 for the two models in question) to ensure you can enjoy their robust Wi-Fi 6 capabilities with peace of mind. Both models receive active development/support and firmware updates.

  • Questionwill tp-link upgrade this to 6E in a later update or any of it's other routers

    Asked by curious.

    • Answer I don't believe this router will be able to be upgraded to 6e as it would need the internal hardware for that to be possible. Remember the new 6 GHz band that a 6e router will offer won't be visible on older wi-fi devices.

  • QuestionWill this support a mesh system?

    Asked by Var1893.

    • Answer It works with the TP-Link One Mesh system. Just search TP-Link One Mesh to find out which units work with it. I get great coverage with the AX90 AX6600. Two story house 1900sqft. Router located on first floor near the center of the house. Speed depends on what you pay for. I have 400 Mbps and with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Pro I get that full speed all over the house..

    • Answer Not if your existing box acts as both your modem and router. The Archer AX90 is a router only - it is not a modem or ONT device. Please contact your Internet provider for clarification regarding how to deploy your own router with their service.
