“Are there limitations on what the usb port can be used for on the m9 plus? Can a usb external drive or usb thumb drive be used to store and access photos and other files over the wi-fi network?”

• The USB port appears to be restricted to "future use". It is able to charge / power devices, but NOT exchange data with them.

• Originally listed as restricted to future use, afters years of complaints, TP-Link tech help has no more than passed the suggestion down the line. Expect it to be nothing more than a glorified charging port or perhaps power up the Fire Stick of the TV you tuck the Deco behind, unless someone tech savvy enough decides take on the task of writing in the code and sharing it for others.
