QuestionI am considering purchasing this router (TP-Link - Deco XE75 Pro AXE5400) - $399 at Bestbuy. I am comparing this with TP-Link Deco AXE5300 (from Costco which is around $130 less). Can someone explain the difference XE75 Pro AXE5400 VS XE75 AXE5300.

- Answer Both are the same 6E wireless protocol and speeds. The 5300 model has three 1-giga ports, while the 5400 model has two 1-giga port and one 2.5 giga port. If you are setting up a full wireless mesh, then really no difference. However, if you plan to link each mesh unit with ethernet wiring, the 2.5 giga port can give better speeds as the backhauling will be done on a 2.5 giga port vs 1 giga port connection.

QuestionWill this system do my 2 story 1200 square house and my outside metal barn?

- Answer Your metal barn will kill all wireless signals going inside most likely think of it like talking on a cell phone when you get on a elevator. The call will probably drop once the doors close. As somebody had already mentioned running a cat6a Ethernet underground cable to your barn would be best and hooking one of the units into that cable for a Ethernet back haul would be best. There are still other factors that you need to consider before attempting. For instance If the cat6a cable length exceeds 100 meters it will not work. Your best bet is to YouTube what others have done to bring wifi service into a barn from their home as distance is going to play a huge factor into the equation. Best of luck.

- Answer Hi! Yes, you can expand your existing Deco Mesh Wi-Fi System conveniently by introducing additional Deco nodes. All of our Deco Mesh models are compatible with each other; however, to retain the Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5Gbps port (1x per node) features of the Deco XE75 Pro, we recommend building out your Deco XE75 Pro network with the same model.

QuestionCan you use the ethernet wired connection on the satellite unit?

- Answer YES! And it does it automatically. Set all of them up with wireless first. Then simply connect whichever one is near an ethernet jack by wire and within a few moments it will automatically reconfigure to using that as the backchannel. You can mix and match (I have one with ethernet backchannel and one on the 6 GHz backchannel)

QuestionI'm going to buy the XE75 Pro, but I'm confused. Do I plug my modem into the 2.5g port or my desktop PC into it to take advantage of the faster speeds?

- Answer Hi! That depends on whether your Internet plan and modem support more than 1 Gbps. If your Internet speed is 1 Gbps or less, then you can use any of the 1 Gbps WAN/LAN ports for Internet input, and the 2.5 Gbps port for another device. However, if your Internet speed is greater than 1 Gbps, we recommend using the 2.5 Gbps port for Internet input to better utilize the bandwidth available from your ISP.

QuestionI'm travelling into the US from overseas and keen to pick up these units as much cheaper there. Can you provide details on the power supply connection? Is it hardwired into a power brick or does it have USB style connections into a power adaptor?

QuestionI know one node connects to the modem via ethernet. My question is the other 2 nodes. Can i use the ethernet ports to connect my Xbox and computer to the 2 and 3ed nodes? And is there any performance benefits by doing this instead of just using WiFi.

- Answer It would probably be more useful to just use wifi. Unless your other nodes are connected to the main by ethernet, the speeds will be limited to the wifi connection between the nodes and connecting directly to the node via Ethernet won't really improve much.

- Answer Hi tdl, The Deco XE75 Pro is set up and managed via the Deco app on your smartphone (Android, iOS). For your connected devices, such as computers, TVs, etc. - as long as they support Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity, they should have no trouble connecting to the Deco Mesh System, regardless of operating system.

- Answer Hi AML, Full coverage may depend on the placement of the Deco units. For example, where your main Deco will be installed, and where the Satellite Deco nodes will be throughout the home. If an optimal placement configuration is not available, or the construction elements drastically impact connectivity, after setup, you can always expand by conveniently adding another Deco node. All of our Deco models are compatible, and support intuitive and quick integration with existing Deco networks via the Deco app.

- Answer Hi! The Deco XE75 Pro is not designed for outdoor use. To be safe, we would suggest adding a single Deco X50-Outdoor, which is weatherproof an intended for outdoor use. Since all of our Deco Mesh models are compatible with each other, you can conveniently add a Deco X50-Outdoor to your Deco XE75 Pro network.

- Answer Hi Peanut, to use the Deco XE75 Pro AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Whole Home Mesh System, you will need an existing Internet source/connection (for example, a modem, ONT, or gateway that is connected to your existing Internet service). Then, using an Ethernet cable, you can connect the main Deco unit to your Internet source device and conveniently set it up using the Deco app.

- Answer It should be, if placed optimally. However, other factors may also contribute to Wi-Fi connectivity woes in an apartment environment apart from signal strength or coverage. Generally, prime contributors would be how densely congested neighboring Wi-Fi signals are, with each apartment unit broadcasting at least one Wi-Fi signal (or more if using multiple Mesh nodes), causing interference for other networks nearby.

- Answer You can easily add a Deco XE75 as your primary Deco node. All of our Deco Mesh models are compatible with each other. Adding the XE75 as your primary Deco will give you the functionality that the XE75 offers over the X3600. Generally speaking, any features the XE75 offers that the X3600 does not will be made available to devices within your Deco Mesh network.

- Answer Hi! Only one Deco node needs to be connected via Ethernet to your modem. The remaining Deco nodes only require power, and can connect via Mesh Wi-Fi to the main node. The Deco app will help guide you through the setup process.
