• No. You can use these without a subscription. Just use an sd card instead for recordings

• Hi! A Kasa Care subscription is only required if you would like cloud-based storage or activity-based clip recording. Otherwise, you can simply use a MicroSD card (not included) to locally store 24/7 rolling recording.
