A:Answer It's kind of pointless to use a smart switch with smart bulbs. Using either one alone gives you remote control. I'm using a mix of smart bulbs and switches. If I put a smart bulb on a circuit controlled by a switch, I've been removing the switch and bypassing it completely. I install a blank over the top. I found that if I had a smart bulb on a switch, my wife would invariably turn off the switch so that when I said, "turn on the kitchen light", nothing would happen. Unfortunately, my kitchen light switch does not have a neutral wire so I had to use 3 smart bulbs in the fixture instead.
