I use them with standard LED bulbs, both screw-in and florescent tube types, without any issues.

In fact, it is generally recommended that you not use a smart bulb with a smart switch, as this will introduce redundancies; typically you would want to use a smart light switch with non-smart bulbs, or vice versa - smart bulbs with a non-smart light switch. The Bluetooth connection is used to establish the initial communication between your smartphone and the light switch. This allows you to begin the setup process for the switch using the Tapo app. During setup, you will be required to enter your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network information - this is so the light switch can establish a connection to your home network and to the Internet. Please ensure your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong at the smart light switch location. Please also ensure your smartphone is not connected to a VPN during setup, as this may interfere with the installation process.
