Minutes, texts, and data does transfer from an old Tracfone to a new one with the same number. Even when I switched from a "dumb" phone to a smart phone, all of my minutes transferred. I do not, however, remember if they got split between texts and data as well, since the old phones used minutes for all 3. Good luck.
