This is a standard category 5E Ethernet cable - you can connect any device - including your smart TV - with this cable through the Ethernet port.

A patch cable has two male ends on it. For home use one end is plugged into your router and the other end into your other device, usually a desktop computer. printer, etc. A wired connection is usually faster and more reliable than a wireless.

For example if I wanted to plug my router into my cable modem I would use a cat5 patch. Picture a pc server tower with all the different servers in a rack those are all patch cords. To answer you question yes this will work for your tv. both regular cat5 and a patch cat5 are wired the same.
