Sound from both speakers. just left / right, no surround sound. Game chat goes mono to both speakers.

I don't know if you are hearing impaired to make a suggestion otherwise for you, since you mentioned mono. Most music players can be set to mono( all sound to one speaker). Game consoles I'm not sure of. Hope this helped
