Thanks for your inquiry, Ralph! The Stealth 700 Gen 3 for Xbox pairs with the Xbox console using the included wireless USB transmitter, it does not pair to the controller in any way. The Bluetooth connection on the headset is designed to connect with Smartphones and Tablets. Best Regards!

Theres transmitters that go along with the device and you plug those transmitters in accordingly

Make sure you buy the version that states its Xbox compatible. It'll come with a usb stick that plugs directly into the xbox.

There are 2 usb dongles you plug in on xbox to connect headphone as a reciver. Your controller dosnt matter its not a wired headset you dont plug it into your controller. But if its the original xbox x controller it should be bluetooth but that has nothing to do with it.
