how many lights do you need for 10' tree null

We put 600 on our six foot artificial tree and we’re able to get really nice 3D type effects by running half on the inside of the branches and the other half on the outside. Very nice effect

I have a 9.5 foot tree and I used 2 strings of 600 each. Its plenty, and looks good. But it would look even better with more. Only issue with more lights, the more lights, the less room for ornaments. Some may disagree but because of the patterns displayed by the lights, its expected to be on a somewhat flat surface, not run up and down every branch. Its personal preference obviously but thats what I've done. But, now you're making it more difficult to put ornaments on. You've effectively built up a wall on the outer layer of your tree. And the more lights in the way the more difficult it will be to get ornaments hung.
