A:AnswerNo, I charge mine with the supplied USB cable. The charging dock is just another way to charge it but is a bit pricey to buy in addition to the speaker.
A:AnswerMegaBoom-3 answer--There is absolutely, unequivocally, NO headphone or auxiliary jack port. In fact the only port existent is for micro USB- charging located under a rubber flap. I hope this is definitive enough for you. I own the MegaBoom 3 in question.

Everyone here is stating that you can play
megaboom 3 while charging and technically it will play while on charger.
However, the use instructions caution that it not be played while on charger as detrimental to future battery life. I somehow missed that bit of information, playing it while charging so that it would be good to go at 100 at moments notice. This correlates with the timing of the speaker going from 16 hrs. Of play to less than 6 hrs. Per charge & seems to be losing longevity since
It is quite frustrating as I nearly live for the music having to recharge far more often, for longer as well, and without using on the charger
I have taken to switching between it and a UE roll if wishing to keep it going though it will eventually fail to keep up. Expecting anything near the 14-16 hours is an impossible dream of days gone by...lol..even w both alternating.
Am currently attempting to find if there is a way to restore battery life beyond the usual tips which I will try again just in case.
Not saying charge play caused the issue as I haven't a clue but it's quite a coincidence.
The advice of using a fast charger to do it more often but quicker " to a more acceptable" length of time isn't an "acceptable" solution for me & seems possibly a bit condescending. Who is deciding besides myself what is acceptable compromise ?

A:AnswerHey! Unfortunately, you cannot control the volume and on/off functionality of each Megaboom 3 speaker separately through the app when paired. However, you can control the volume of each speaker individually using the physical buttons on the speakers themselves.

It also does not connect to the Ultimate Ears app (which gives you the party mode, adjustable EQ, and one-touch playlists. The Wonderboom 2 will not pair with any generation of Megaboom or Boom speaker, but it WILL pair up with another Wonderboom/Wonderboom 2 for stereo sound! On the other hand, the Megaboom 3 has the app and can connect with more than 150 other Megaboom, Boom, or Hyperboom speakers to "Party Up"!

The Boom 3 should be getting about 15 hours of playtime (at 70% volume) when fully charged. The Megaboom 3 is 20 hours (at 70% volume). Battery life goes down, as the volume goes up. In order to maintain the best possible performance of your Boom3 or Megaboom3, you should download the Ultimate Ears app. Along with many added features, the app allows you to keep the firmware of the speaker up-to-date.
