I bought one in August 2019 and yes it works as a standalone phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. As of April 2019, Verizon now allows this to be used as a stand-alone phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can purchase the palm (palm) which is a shared device, which you still have to have a new line of service which is $10 per month (for my plan), which still has it's own number. The number does not come up when calling out, but if someone calls and uses your palm number, your palm will ring, but not your main phone. When my main number is called both phones rings. However, If your palm is in life mode and the screen is not on, your palm will not ring. If your screen is on and/or life mode is off, both phones will ring when your main number is called. The palm (phone) is a stand alone device with a separate line and number.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it can but i would not recomend it the battery wont last as much as a regular phone
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I can leave my phone at home or it can be turned off and any calls going to my cell phone will ring and can be answered on the Palm. The Palm also has it's own number that anyone can call and it will only ring on the Palm. You can use the Palm to make any phone calls as you would your phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Based on what Verizon has said... no, it is just a number share device like the watches. I saw a few posts from people claiming they were able to replace the sim, one also claimed to be running on AT&T, but Verizon also says that removing the sim voids the warranty. Still it does intrigue me enough that I may pick it up to pair with the New Samsung S10+ I just pre-ordered as it looks like it would do everything I need when just running around the office, shopping or doing yard work and cost a lot less to replace if it got dropped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can purchase them directly from your carrier as a stand alone device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes they make stand alone phones. You can’t make a dedicated phone into a stand alone phone though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That is a great question. It seems a bit confusing. The Palm must have it's own line and has it's own phone number. Someone can text and call directly to that number. However, during setup with the carrier it seems to require a companion phone to be linked via Verizon's NumberShare. I heard rumors of a future completely stand alone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Now with the update you can put your phones sim in it and you will receive calls and text. I used it as a stand alone phone for a week and now I put my iPad sim in and just use this now as a data device when I want to go small.
