That would depend on your configuration. If you have configure your laptop power setting to turn off or sleep when the lid is closed then it won't work. The docking station would have to have the video/audio/power capable USB-C. Many docking stations do not have a thunderbolt/USB-C for video and only of data, check and see if your dock is capable of video output.

Please try again later.1) this will depend on the laptop and the dock, I can operate 1 of these monitors with USBC from my dock and one has to use USB for power directly from laptop (I use phone charging cable that is full size USB-A from laptop to USB-C on screen) with micro HDMI from screen to HDMI on dock for video with included cable. I use the j5 triple display dock (one of these connections is limited as USB video instead of true display connector). 2) you should consult your laptop settings for what happens when you close the lid. Connections will vary from laptop to laptop so no guarantees on how compatible it may be
