The monitor is equipped with a mini HDMI port and comes with a cable to full size HDMI. If the device only has male HDMI then you would need to adapt the connection to work with mini HDMI. My guess is this won't work out of the box with a "stick" device unless you can find accessories to adapt connection. This could work with a streaming box that has full size HDMI via provided cable but then you will have to power monitor over usb-c. Using a phone charger USB-C cable has worked for me (mainly I've used the USB-A to C cable from my laptop for power and provided mini HDMI cable for video from my laptop). The cleanest way to operate the device is power and video from laptop or device that supports video and power over USB-C. The provided USB-C cable in the box will allow that functionality.
