Upon further research, this projector does use a pixel shift to produce the 4K image. It uses XPR technology to perform micro-adjustments to the mirror system so each pixel of the native 1080P LCD panel produces 4 on-screen pixels.

If you are asking if it uses "pixel shift" or comparable technology to deliver a simulated "4K experience", no. According to Viewsonic's website, the X-100-4K is a true 4K resolution projector with 8.3 million distinct on screen pixels in 3840X2160 (UHD) format.
