I would say no. Normally you want 10 foot or less to get effect from upward firing speakers in terms of Dolby Atmos and DTS X. You'll want a traditional Dolby Atmos setup with overhead sounds. Although, I hear the Nakamichi - Shockwafe Ultra 9.2.4 is pretty versatile in satellite angle placement. It might suit your room well enough. For normal listening, this soundbar gets plenty loud with good bass and fills a room easily otherwise.

Your best bet for vaulted ceilings is actual speakers in/on the ceiling, which is likely far more expensive for a whole setup. You can probably save some money picking a non-Atmos 5.1 system and get similar audio results as this would give you.
