When I first bought my Vizio it did allow me to adjust the volume of my external speakers on my theatre system. Though after about a month it stopped connecting to them and I had to buy an optical cable bc it wouldn't play through HDMI cable, though the cable works on other devices like my computer to tv. Now I can't control the sound with the tv remote. Have even brought out a Vizio tech guy and he couldn't fix it.
