The distance between the outer sides of the stand legs is 42.31". The stand legs can only go into the TV in one direction.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recently purchased the 55 inch mainly because I read on here that the legs were 42+ inches at their longest width, which would fit on my stand. However, once we set it up the distance was 44 1/2 inches, which did not fit the stand. Now, we have to buy a new stand anyway. If we had known this we would have bought a larger screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Legs can only be attached one way, inversion is not possible. The length from the outside edge of one leg to the other is 42 5/16". That is the absolute minimum width platform that the tv can sit on.

Please try again later. If the distance between the legs of the larger TVs are too wide for your existing TV stand consider getting a TV mount that puts a pedestal in the center of the TV. Why did manufacturers get away from this option? These TV mounts attach to the VESA holes that you would use to mount the TV on the wall. That way way you don't drill holes in you wall. Pay attention to the capacity of the TV mount and the VESA spacing. I'm happy with the one I bought (I put it on a 48" TV) I would recommend this method instead of purchasing new furniture. There are height adjustments and I was able to snuggle my sound bar under the TV. Insignia™ - TV Stand for Most Flat-Panel TVs Up to 65" - Black Model:NS-HTMS1SKU:6389372
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The legs measure 42”. I’ve seen them inverted in videos, but cannot personally confirm. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.42" between the legs, it appears that they mount only in one direction.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I measured mine and they are 48 inches apart. I don't think they can be inverted though.
