“Currently I have a Cox cable box where which the channels are changed. Will the remote be able to change the channels through the box? At this time, I use a "universal" remote to control on/off, channels and volume on my sound bar.”

I hope you haven't bought a Vizio as yet. Do yourself a favor and purchase something else or be prepared to suffer after 1 year of fantastic viewing. I have a 16 month, 75 inch, 100 pound paper weight that is beyond repair because of a faulty panel. I was told this last Saturday by a repair man who came to my house to repair my paper weight. He said it is not a probability for failure is sure. If you must have it then buy extended warranty but be prepared for some stress after a year or so.

I would recommend connecting your sound bar with a HDMI cable in the slot labeled "ARC" in order to control your volume on your sound bar with your tv remote
