M is the middle tier and the P is the upper tier. The M doesn’t get as bright and does not have as many zones for the Full Aray Backlight. The more zones a TV has, the better the black levels will be unless you buy OLED. In short the P series gets brighter especially for HDR, has more Full Aray Zones, and overall just has a better picture but you cant beat the M series price when compared to other TVs in that price point.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You get a little better build quality and more back lighting zones. The increased back lights improve the blacks and dark areas. Go P if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.More technology in the screen for a far better picture. More local dimming for example. Go to Vizio's website, go to products/TV's and compare. It will show you all the additional technologies of all the models side by side.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are additional technologies for a higher quality picture. More local dimming is one example, more colors for another. Please go to Vizio website, go to the tv products and pull up compare and it will show you all the additional technologies. For the money, this is the best set in it's class.
