Vivid is the WORST possible picture mode for your tv, in fact it only exist to sell the tv by competing with the lights on the showroom floor, by maxing out most of the color, brightness and contrast settings to ridiculous extremes. Whites are not supposed to be bluish and the reason your blacks are too black, is because the Vivid mode is crushing them and destroying detail in the pic along the way. The best pic modes for this tv or any for that matter are calibrated and calibrated dark, with on this tv, the "normal" color temp (which is the closest to 6500k color temp, which most movies and tv shows are produced at), and which out of the box are pretty accurate. If your worried about video games, use the tv's "Game" picture setting with "normal" color temp and adjust to your liking from there. That being said, even though I'm a certified display calibrator for at least 10 years and have calibrated hundreds if not thousands of consumer and professional displays, don't take it from me, do your research on proper tv calibration.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I set mine to "dark calibrated" Backlight 60, brightness and contrast I left at 50, color is 60, tint 0, sharpness 20. go into "more picture" color temp "Normal", black detail and xtreme black engine pro both on medium, clear action on and definitely turn on low latency, gamma at 2.2. For my xbox one x these settings work great. I read that it can actually be different per game and the TV industry and gaming industry are working on having presets made for TV's for their games. IDK how that'll work but if it does then GREAT!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For gaming, the most vibrant picture setting for for HDR is Vivid. I like to set backlight up to 100. 50 for brightness, 60 contrast. sharpness at 25. I turn the motion stuff all on for ultra smooth motion (if you don't want any input lag set it to game latency to on). I don't notice the extra motion lag, and it looks smooth for 30 FPS 4k games like God of War. Gamma to 2.1. This TV has pretty good motion interpolation, so might as well use it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After a ton of research etc. I have the VIZIO P65 F1 set as follows. Picture Mode VIVID: Auto Brightness Off, Back light 26, Brightness 30, Contrast 65, Color 60, Tint 0, Sharpness 30, Color Temp Cool, Black detail Low, Extreme Black Engine Pro Low. Reduce Judder 0, Reduce Motion Blur 0, Clear Action Off, Reduce signal noise Low, Reduce Block Noise, Low, Game Low Latency Off, Film Mode On, Color Space Auto, Gamma 2.2 I find these setting the best for all platforms, Cable, UHD, 4k ,Sports and gaming. One Caveat, the TV is not in a brightly lit room, it's in our finished basement with virtually no sunlight entering the room, but we do have ample ceiling lighting and our viewing distance is about 15 feet. Hope this helps!
