I see so few people clarifying this, but only the 85 inch model of the 2020 vizio p series quantum x (not coming out until later this fall, now being mid-July) has the 3000 nits peak brightness and 792 local dimming zones advertised as possible for this model. In contrast, the 75" version of the same model has a peak brightness of 2800 nits and 480 local dimming zones, suggesting it may have more blooming possible, but the brightness is comparable and blooming in this generation will hardly be noticeable; it just smoothes out extreme brights next to deep blacks. Other than the jump in dimming zones from 480 to 792 and a difference in peak brightness of 200 nits you aren't gaining more other than the 10 inches in size from 75 inches by waiting for the 85 inch version. But between the p quantum and the p quantum x of the same size it's well worth returning for $300 more to gain the specs bump. Just don't expect 792 dimming zones unless you're opting for the 85 inch not yet out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YES, the new model is going to be Much Better. "The new P-Series Quantum X 4K HDR TV is all about brightness. It features an absolutely retina-searing 3,000-nit peak brightness capability, which should take HDR material to an intense new level in terms of realism. Vizio claims the quantum dot panels used on the P-Series Quantum X are the highest performing on the market, offering 180% more color than standard 4K HDR TVs. Depending on screen size, the P-Series Quantum X has up to 792 local dimming zones, which should prove highly capable at ensuring deep blacks with minimal halo-effect on even the most complicated of scenes. This model shares all of the processing technologies found on the OLED 4K HDR Smart TV, including the IQ Ultra processor, ProGaming Engine, and support for HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDMI 2.1, and HDMI eARC."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would. The new version offers plenty of new tech features to make it way more future proof than last years model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would return, the new model should be much better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it were me yes. Definitely! Lots of upgrades. 2.1 HDMI lots of other stuff too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.if you plan on getting a ps5 or new xbox or just a gamer at all yes. New ones are designed with that in mind with hdmi 2.1 ports. Just we have to see how long till best buy gets the new p series quantum x 65 inch
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you're a gamer, then absolutely return it and get a 2020 model. The 2020 model will have HDMI version 2.1 which will give you 4k at 120hz at some point in the future when the next gen game consoles come out and developers make new games to support higher frame rates. I would assume performance should be as good or a little better than last year's model as well so if it were me I'd absolutely get a 2020 model. The 2019 model was good too though so if you're not a gamer and just a casual tv watcher it's up to you then if the money savings going with last year's model is worth it to you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Return it and get the new one for sure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I need to correct my prior comment in that I see the 65" also has 3000 nits peak brightness (so not only the 85"), just not nearly the same local dimming zones as the larger versions, so the contrast won't be as sharp but the colors will pop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought last year's 75' model and loved it, until it started shutting off and or turning on on its own. Apparently, this was a big issue with last year's model. It was also a QC issue, so you might've gotten lucky and received a panel that wouldn't big out, or you most likely would. The issues with blooming were a huge issue for me as well. Watching from an angle was bad too. The picture would degrade in quality and color. All that being said, when viewing from straight on the picture was gorgeous and boy was that screen bright! Another thing that I love about these Vizio's, is the smart casting. I have an Android and my wife has an iPhone and we were able to cast to the TV without any issues. Ever. I would definitely return your TV and wait for the new one, we did. I'm hoping that they've fixed the nuances and we all get to enjoy a worry free experience.
