“Is there a difference between an input HDMI port and an ARC?”

• ARC does not work. It's intended to sync the sound bar with a Vizio TV that also has an ARC HDMI port. But setting it up this way did not work. Often the sound bar would not come on at all, or would turn on and there would be no sound. It was very frustrating! The only way I was able to get the sound bar working with my Vizio TV was to connect it via the digital optical cable. I'm very disappointed with this ARC technology. It sounds like to would be great, to bad it doesn't work.

• We appreciate your interest in the SB4031-D5. HDMI is a type of connection. ARC stands for Audio Return Channel and requires an HDMI cable for that type of setup. Thanks and have a great day! -Randal
