- Answer I live in a duplex- each side about 950 sq ft. I can clearly hear my Mother’s activities in her bedroom and living room. I can holler at her just to make sure she is ok and she can hear me throughout her house. I am super impressed!

QuestionI'm buying these in the hopes that i can talk to my children on the 2nd floor. IF I keep the base, can child A talk to me (and can I talk to him?) and can child B talk to me from her room (and can I talk to her?)?

- Answer I have taken these outside to garden or take out the trash and I have used the walkee talkee feature with the base unit to talk to my wife. I believe if all units are on then it goes to all of them so there wouldnt be privacy between child A and child B talking to you.

- Answer Hello, The maximum operating range of this VTech DM221-2 Baby Monitor is roughly 1000 feet outdoors, and 160 feet indoors. The actual operating range depends on environmental conditions, as well as any interference from outside sources. Thank you!

- Answer Hey, yes you can. The non-parent end is a continuous microphone that the toddler could just speak into and you would hear them out the other end.

QuestionCan I use this in a retirement home to talk through a window to my mother during the COVID-19 Pandemic?

- Answer I would say yes. I have this for my child but when I got a job sitting with an elderly lady I decided to take it with me so that if I was in the laundry room (which was in her garage) or wanted to walk outside and still hear her if she called for me. It was sooo much more convenient on the days that she just needed to know someone was there. She had Alzheimer’s and so sometimes would forget and it was better to be able to say “I am washing be there in 5” rather than her just screaming and being worried if anyone was even there or not. Assuming the range it reached I would say absolutely it would work thru a window. One monitor doesn’t have to have a button pressed it always transmits sound to the other and the parent one has a button on the side you press when talking as long as you are okay with that I say this would be perfect!

QuestionWhich unit in the set of 3 goes in the baby room is it the one with the page button on the side? My other 2 units have a talk button on the side

- Answer The unit with the clear loop on the top goes in the baby room. The ones with silver go to the parents so the can both hear the baby room. These "parent" units can also act as an intercom so they can talk to each other without disturbing the baby and coordinate who is going to physically check on the baby. I put one of the parent units in the baby room so i can "talk" to the baby along with the "baby" unit.

- Answer Grace - The VTech DM221-2 is a non-expandable baby monitor. You cannot add nor replace the baby unit in the system. The baby unit requires connection to the AC power at all times to function. Thank you, -VTech Support

- Answer Hi- Yes, you can place and install the VTech DM221-2 in a different room. Make sure that the 2 baby units are not too close to each other to avoid having interference. - Answer Yes, the vibration mode can be set On or OFF with following steps: 1. Press MENU when the parent unit is not in use. 2. Press Up or Down arrow key to choose VIBE ALERT, then press SELECT. 3. Press Up or Down arrow key to choose ON or OFF. 4. Press SELECT to confirm your selection. The screen displays SAVED and you hear a confirmation tone.

- Answer First answer is that you can leave all units plugged in as long as you wish. The second is answered in the Manual. We leave them all plugged in all the time, no problem. We move the "parent " unit as needed too.
