It most certainly can, I added a VTech cs6709, this is how I did it step one go to the cs6114 take the phone off the base and hold the find button for approximately 6 seconds this will put the base into registration mode take the phone that you want to register cs6709 and hold the pound key # it will say registering and it will take approximately 60 seconds and the phone will beep when registered mine said handset #2 registered, so don't believe what they tell you that you cannot expand this phone I don't know what other handsets will work but I imagine any 6.0 phone VTech or AT&t will work I'm not positive on that only the model that I registered I can say for sure it worked thank you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to use an AT&T handset (CL83215) with a VTECH base (CS5229); but could not register the VTECH handsets to the AT&T base. Don't know why.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had to de-register the phone that I wanted to add to my base from the base that it came with before I could register it to my base. Here were the stepss that I followed: De-register the new handset from the base that it came with: 1. Go into settings menu 2. Enter *7890# 3. Go to TEST HANDSET MENU 4. Select REGISTER CLEAR 5. Hit Select Again Register the handset to my existing base: 1. Hold find button on the base down for four seconds 2. Press (and release) the pound key on de-registered handset 3. Waited and it paired itself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You wouldn't be able to incorporate this to another brand of phone. It has its own base station that works on a different frequency.
