Yes, a computer is required to operate this product with hdmi and usb connections. Only the mobile, companion or pro series do not require a computer as they have their own operating systems.

Please try again later.This isn’t a stand alone device so there’s no software built in or anything, you have to use it with a laptop or something running Photoshop or whatever app you use. It always needs to be plugged in to turn on so it’s not really a charging, battery reserve situation. Wacom makes a different model that’s standalone but it’s significantly more expensive

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Cintiq requires a computer to run. It's basically a monitor that you draw on. It isn't a standalone computer. Wacom does make that but they are $2-3k.
