Hello. Thank you for reaching out regarding your Water Filter for Select Samsung Refrigerators if this is compatible with your refrigerator. Regarding your concern, the refrigerator you got does not have any water filter. This must be installed outside the refrigerator. The water filter is not provided with your new refrigerator. The filter cartridge and holder kit can be purchased from the retailer where you purchased this refrigerator. Here is a link to your user manual to further assist you. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check the center of the refrigerator should be located there. Take out the old and slide in the new. Watch out some water splashes out when you remove the old filter. Hope this information helps.

Since the RF221NCTABC/AA doesn't come with an internal filtration system, I would suggest speaking with your local Best Buy Appliance Associates or a plumber for help choosing an external filter that will best suit your needs. There are instructions in the User Manual for attaching an external filter to the Refrigerator's water line. - Ms. Samsung
