“HAF-CIN/XME vs HAF-CIN/EXP I have a model RFG293HARS refrigerator with the original HAF-CIN/XME water filter. Although everyone is telling me that the HAF-CIN/EXP (which, apparently, is the only model sold now) is the same thing, but it is not. The XME has a recessed top and the EXP has a flush top. The EXP will NOT go into my refrigerator. Has Samsung just decided to sacrifice customers who bought models needing the XME or is there a replacement filter available? I have attached photos of the tops of the two models.”

When I purchased mine they had two models in stock. One was a shorter version that sounds like what you were looking for - I found it at a store in El Paso. Good luck.

The letters following the "/" are for internal purposes, and both types should fit. It's possible the difficulty you're having installing the new filter is due to water pressure in the lines. If you haven't done so already, try turning off the water supply at the valve before installing the new cartridge.
